Glad to hear about the dog anyway. Does Mrs H actually need to be dripping wet?

Aye. Dog pretty much always fine here too. Had a gum infection a couple of months back, vet wanted to charge us £100,000,000 or something to remove a tooth. We said, let's see what happens after the antibiotics course. After which it settled down nicely of course and no further problems. Always someone trying to get their mitts in your pocket.
Current home maintenance issues include a wobbly utility area tap, and two blocked rainwater downpipes, and I don't know if these go to a soakaway or to the very close-by drains. Will have to get someone to dig stuff up and find out I suppose (with the age of our house and the lax regulations at the time it's impossible to be certain). Sigh. Brick paved driveway needs a few areas resetting and a full clean, resand and sealing job, main bathroom paint starting to peel from the walls, I need to work up some enthusiasm to tackle that which I can and get a man to do the rest. I've already spent a couple of weekends recently filling and painting some cracking concrete on the outside of the house and reparing a wooden gagrage door in which I found some very fat woodlice and slugs gorging themselves silly.
My mother/step father seem fine for now, same with Mrs A's parents, but of course we standby for any sudden changes to those conditions, although the latter pair are unreachable physically at the moment until there is a genuine emergency...

Sorry to hear about the FiL Humph. Cholesterol is weird. I have a now retired GP friend who is simply obese to a huge extent. Suffers from cellulitis on a regular basis but seems to have no other major health issues.
In the meantime my MiL has broken every Covid rule there was but has sailed through with nairy a scare.

😌
I’ve used that roundabout a few times since the Leaf’s mishap and clenched the buttocks a little each time. The two-headed left-right arrows in the middle lane do confuse a few people, but the right lane is an unambiguous Turn Right, so it really shouldn’t be difficult.

Yes it shouldn't be difficult, but seems to be for some people. I find the nearby roundabout at Reading bridge far more dicey, it's a horrible layout and particularly nasty for cyclists. I use these roundabouts with as much circumspection as I can muster.

Yes, the sightlines, the slope and the lane markings are all wrong. MrsB1 likes the Reading Bridge route out of town, for reasons that escape me. Apart from the narrow lanes over the bridge itself (which I notice in the CLS but aren’t really a problem in the i3) I’d far rather go the Caversham way. But then they’re both routes out of Reading, so they can’t be all bad. 😛

I prefer to see them as routes into Caversham, which is jolly nice.
Although I think I might be with Mrs W here, going the Caversham bridge way risks longer traffic delays I'd have thought. Prospect St/Prince of Wales junction can be a swine.
