...seem to be the biggest part of a service these days?!
Just had changed:
- oil filter - fuel filter - air filter - cabin/pollen filter
Guess how much for all 4 components?

115 quid for all 4 of them, which I thought quite cheap? I’m sure they used to cost more...

Not a bad price really. What did they stiff you for oil?

7 quid per litre of oil - seems good to me?! I have paid around 10 quid for a one-litre top-up bottle of the synthetic stuff for my A1. But I guess the Mitsi diesel lump doesn’t have such refined taste!

New battery fitted today. Car’s been a tiny bit sluggish to start during autumn. Unsurprising considering all the short runs that SWMBO does, and we were warned back in February that the battery was down to 70%.
£145 including fitting, for a new Yuasa battery, which I thought was reasonable. Old one was was original, so lasted over 6 years.

Aye, batteries aren't what they used to be or, probably more accurately, cars are a lot more power hungry than they were. My previous S60 D5 I sold at 9 years old still on the original battery, my current S60 D3 is on its 3rd battery at 10 years old. The Focus I have won't talk to the Ford app if I don't start it every 7-10 days. They call it progress I think.

The Qashqai needed a new battery at about 10 years old, but that's the only one I've ever had to change that I can remember. However, our cars used to get a fait bit of regular use I suppose. Just got the cheapest Halfords one they had at the time. Don't think it was all that expensive. Can't remember now to be honest.

Blimey you lot are made of money. I paid £50 for a new battery for the Civic recently - and that was a distress purchase from Eurocarparts, could have got it cheaper online if I could have waited (I couldn't because the windows were down when the battery died...).
All those filters dixi listed plus 5l of oil can be had for around £60 for my Civic, on carparts4less using thier regular discount code (fuel filter isn't available weirdly, but I've allowed £15 for that based other prices).

Yeah, but I live in Farawayland...! Don’t have so many suppliers like ECP down here. And ordering anything on the web from overseas has become a lottery these past 6 months with the slow meltdown of the global logistics industry...😬.
All the filters were supplied and fitted at a main dealer. It’s only 1 day a year...

I suppose that's fair in your case, but it still all sounds a little pricy.
Now, on my Leaf, the number of filters, and the associated cost, is far smaller.
i.e. it's 1.
Just sayin'...

A1 service being done today. At a glass palace. In the city. Gulp. Breaking every rule aren’t I? Let’s see what their gold-plated filters cost me... 😬
