Nah, just a dodgy colour in general for cars. Thought everyone knew?

But a very good colour for oars in boat races.

Nah, just a dodgy colour in general for cars. Thought everyone knew? I like light blue cars. Without sunroofs. 😛 I nearly bought a (very) light blue CLS but couldn’t agree a price, so I have my boring grey one instead. I seem to be coping.

A light blue CLS would have been, quite literally, beyond the pale. A bit like those striped shirts with plain white collars and cuffs. You just know, beyond any shadow of doubt, when you meet a man who is wearing one of those, that he is not a decent chap. Quite possibly affects a toupee too.

I agree on the shirts, but I think this light blue car thing is a personal fetish of yours Humph, you're on your own.
This morning I dropped the Civic off for an MOT, and walked the 3 miles back home. First time I'd been outside for a significant amount time for a while, and first time I've been through the town since I-don't-know-when. Saw a chap in a light grey, light check suit, with tan shoes, stubble and a slicked back hair do. Now there's a look that gives me the heebie jeebies.

Could have put your bike in the boot?

Could have but fancied the walk through town. Might well ride down to collect it later. Coming home it's uphill. Do I not like that.

Thought you'd be like a coiled spring after all that r&r in France. Hundreds of laps of the pool each day and so on I suppose? 🤔

I'm getting recurrences of that back problem I had a while back, not so much coiled spring as bent goalpost. Your stretching advice is being a lifesaver, I wouldn't be able to move without it. So a bit reticent about cycling, but I'll give it a go today. Loved the pool on hols, spent a lot of time lolling about in it.

Bad back? Yeah, I used to get that with, well, you know, "budget" cars too... 😎

I can't blame the car seats, I'm hardly ever in them. 3k miles in the Civic since November, 1500 of that on the holiday just now. No twinges or discomfort on the long journey for any of us. But the Leaf's seats are better, they're a bit roomier, although the Leaf is a wider, higher car I think. that's how it looks on the driveway next to the Civic, anyway.

So I have found out the Civic passed its MOT before being contacted by the garage to tell me.

Better get a Ditchfinder ordered though by the looks....or do those advisories relate to last year?

Those is last year's advisories which were sorted before I bought it. The dealer healthcheck found a split rubber on the rear wiper, and they kindly offered to fit a new one - but I have some leftover refill rubber from when I repaired the SAAB's rear wiper so I'll use that rather than paying dealer prices for a wiper blade.
I think I'll walk the dog down to the garage rather than ride the bike. Two birds, one stone.

Cheeseparing already? You’ve just enjoyed your first road trip in a reliable car and you’re trying to turn it into another crumbling, lopsided old heap. 😈
