I had a eureka moment a few weeks ago.
I realised that:
9 litres per 100km is roughly two gallons per 60 miles = 30mpg 4.5 litres per 100km is roughly one gallon per 60 miles = 60mpg
Therefore...
6 litres per 100km is roughly 1.33 gallons per 60 miles = 50mpg 6.75 litres per 100km is roughly 1.5 gallons per 60 miles = 45mpg 7.5 litres per 100km is roughly 1.66 gallons per 60 miles = 40mpg
Sorry, driving so many kilometres in Israel I was trying to work out a simple mental system for conversion. Probably accurate to within 10% (I haven't checked it), but its close enough I think???

Useful, although perhaps a little optimistic. I make 6 litres per 100 km more like 47 mpg.

It is.
Didn’t we do another thread on this, back when Otto was still around to tell us off?

We could, mildly subversively, disagree with him...

Didn’t like it, though, did he?
