Typed out some stuff about pronouncing his Italian name, now I’ve just just found out he’s from Argentina. Network burped and I lost it. Realise I don’t actually care enough to type it again.
Football is a decent game, spoiled only by the people who play, watch and administer it — and most of all by those whose money controls it.

I certainly agree with the last point.
And don't get me started on the implementation disaster of VAR.

Did you see the welcome England got in Kosovo this week? Startling. Reminded me of the welcome we got as Scotland fans in St Etienne at the 98 World Cup. Unbelievable atmosphere. I got a bit lost walking from the stadium back to my campsite after the match against Morocco (lost 3-0, natch), and stumbled in to a real back street locals bar. Sat and chatted for hours with the locals, who insisted that they pay for my every drink and even had the kitchen bring me out some dinner, gratis. Fantastic night.

Better than Brentford.. Could have seen them going down so quickly and expensively... Fulham have history

Presumably the new season will kick off next month with matches being played in empty stadia? The lack of atmosphere totally ruins it for me. And how many of the smaller clubs risk extinction due to the loss of revenue..? ☹️

It's a big problem, especially for smaller clubs. I am really looking forward to the time I can sit in the north west corner of the Etihad and enjoy a good thrashing (of a lower team). City put on a good show for home games with bands, interviews, etc . It makes the cost seem quite reasonable - which at about £30 per game I think it is.

I believe there are plans to allow 30% occupation of stadia for the new season.
Don't count your chickens EIII, we (used to) have a really good record at Easylands.

I'm a 'bitter blue', used to setbacks... but they are more significant nowadays...
Anyway hoping I get back as one of the 30%.

I’m guessing you’re glad that you weren’t present in the Etihad stadium this weekend Esp?! 🤣

You could say that. I didn't even watch it....

Wow! 4 - 1 at Anfield! I have to admit though that any team that wins any trophy this season has to have an asterisk next to it. But I'll take any silverware.

Do Fulham get an asterisk against our relegation?

😳 That’s your invitation to dinner retracted. Surely not a Scouser living down south??? Nice win last night as well. I was resigned to a poor season given the injuries we had at the beginning and Covid cases, but out of nowhere we suddenly discover that having a decent defence makes up for a lack of goalscorers - oh wait - Gundogan strikes twice in each of three matches... What I am loving is the way we really play as a team; not just a bunch of primadonnas trying to outdo each other. I discovered last week that our oldest (previously) attending fan, 104 year old Mrs Vera Cohen sadly died the day before we beat Liverpool at Anfield. Her younger sister Olga (only 99) will have been consoled....
