A former neighbour used to work for Rover: new company car every 6 months or 10,000 miles.
Employees can also buy cars for family members at a good discount. My uncle worked at Longbridge in the 80’s and that secured me 20% off a new Rover 220 back in 1996, several years after his retirement.
These days, don’t dealers preregister loads of cars to boost sales figures and hit targets on a regular basis? Must result in loads of bargains around for cars sitting in stock, even S-classes?!
The trick, I guess, is not to buy the car that you really want, but to settle for the car in stock that the dealer is desperate to shift!

The trick, I guess, is not to buy the car that you really want, but to settle for the car in stock that the dealer is desperate to shift! The Smart I bought for SWMBO (but in fact that I drive locally most of the time because it's a hoot) was over £5,500 off a car with a list of just over £14,000, under two months registered, and 9 miles on the clock. (TBH, however, anyone that would pay in excess of £14K even for a well-specced Smart wants their bumps looking at - just over £9K, and if you're looking for a town car that's a bit of fun, then it's different).
