Doesn't bother me personally if my car has Apple CarPlay or not, but is it a make-or-break feature for you when car shopping?
Somewhat controversially (apparently), Toyota NZ are importing the new Corolla without this software; Management claim that nobody is asking for it. Cue the general public here tutting and huffing and sucking their teeth. Toyota are fitting sat nav to all models here, even the GBP16k entry model, however. (Don't really need SatNav here, there aren't many roads, but Hey..!)

For what it's worth....My car has it, but I've never felt any need to use it. Maybe those who have it and use it would like to say what it's best for.

My latest car does not have satnav, I decided I was too mean to pay the 4 figure sum for built in satnav when there are so many apps on phones that do at least as good a job. I use carplay to access the satnav on my iPhone, currently only Apple maps but when I upgrade to IOS 12 later this week I will also be able to use Google maps. IPhone map is displayed on the central screen with optional directions. Only disadvantage compared to built in satnav is that it does not display on the little screen in the instrument cluster.

I think some BMWs, including some i3s, have it. Ours doesn’t, but the built-in Fräulein Navi does well enough. I do like the Deezer integration, though; wish the CLS had that for longer journeys.
I think if we had gone for a GTE we would have taken the same view as CD.

It's a product from Fisher Price for the telephone user with special kinds of needs.

It's a product from Fisher Price for the telephone user with special kinds of needs. Partly I agree, have shied away from them until last year. Then, in a 3 month period, I had company laptop and company mobile replaced, both by the fruit product. Am I a convert? Partly, I like both laptop & phone, technically good products in user terms, although I have some understanding of the technical flim-flam behind them and you have to admire the marketing both in the understanding of what people want or like, and in the way they portray their product set

In other words.....
Fur coat and no knickers.
The best thing about Android is the back button. And sometimes less integration is better. I prefer to have WhatsApp calls separated from usual calls so I can decide which one to use.
Espadrille sometimes calls me on WhatsApp when we are both in Manchester. It makes no sense and she does not realise.

Android phones are a bit like Skodas. Their owners are always trying to justify them...”y’see, the Superb is to all intents and purposes an A6 y’know...”
Sure, ok, fair enough... 🤣

>> y’see, the Superb is to all intents and purposes an A6 y’know The current Superb is based on the VW Group MQB platform, shared with cars like the Golf, Octavia, etc. The engine is transversely mounted. This is why there are not V6's engines. The Passat B5 shared chassis components with the Audi A4 and A6 and had longitudinal engines thus could even have a W8 engine. The Audi A6 is based on the VW Group MLB platform (Modular Longitudinal) so the engine is longitudinal allowing for V6 and even V8 engines. So any Superb driver is delusional to say his car is to all intents and purposes an A6. An Audi A3 maybe.
