For Sale just round the corner from me..... About £2,000, though I'm sure it's negotiable.

And this was outside my favourite café about a week ago...……. Very much in use, I saw the guy arrive and park it. Scruffy looking painter and decorator type. Work's truck, I guess.

Another angle, I thought I took one of the back as well but I can't find it.

Nice. I’ve seen plenty of vans but I don’t think I’ve seen a pickup before. There was this estate in the aptly-named Hauteville last year — still in use, as you see.

Love the Ami Ute. Looks pretty non-PPoS. How's that situation going, Otto, btw? Has the penny dropped yet that you're going to end up with a Ford Ranger?

I so like French cars from the 1970s. Character by the tonne. If I had a nice, large, warm and dry garage it would be full of simple European cars (plus a 1975 Toyota Celica). And maybe one Lamborghini...

One day. I wonder how it would take to an electric conversion

Biggest problem converting old cars to electric is probably trying to shoe-horn the batteries in somewhere. Until they are much more compact, it's going to be hard getting much range in any conversion, I'd speculate.

I’d imagine a 900 might have more scope than many. There’s enormous space under the boot floor and back seat, and you wouldn’t need a fuel tank. Put a few batteries in the engine compartment too for better mass distribution and it ought to work. Wouldn’t give you Tesla-beating range but not much does. I’m tempted to buy one just to find out. I even have the offer of somewhere to keep it, so MrsB1 need never know. 😈 In fact... www.saabplanet.com/saab-900-ev/

Interesting. Maybe SAABs are particularly suitable for conversions. Isn't a company in Sweden making 9-3s in pure EV format now? My preference would be a 9000 or 9-5 estate.
