The article doesn’t mention Minis - just ‘some’ 3, 5, 7, i and X models. On the other hand, when I went out with a Mini-owning friend in my early weeks with the i3, she was able to work the iDrive menus much better than me, so there are clear commonalities in software - at least in the user interface.

I think the Mini Countryman and the BMW 220 are clones under the skin. Suspect the Clubman is not far different.
