I know some of you are from Bucks or nearby. Apparently a plane was in collision with a helicopter in those parts this afternoon. Might be that you want to check it out...

Not much to check out. Looks like an unfortunate private aviation accident: two aircraft from the same airfield.

A helicopter & a small cessna, just outside the perimeter of Waddenham Manor's grounds, apparently.

Waddesdon. Picturesque estate village on the A41 between Bicester and Aylesbury, much of it owned by the National Trust. BBC's Ben Ando (yes, he says, he can hear the drums) reports that the wreckage is in 'thick woodland', which at least reduces the likelihood of people on the ground being hurt.

The Manor & its estate is pretty, the village is a bit crap.

Reported yesterday about lunchtime as 'Breaking News' with little detail which led one of my colleagues to wonder if it was more than a probable 'looked and failed to see' collision between light planes.
Not sure why you'd want to 'check it out' unless it might affect your journey. It's said that sightseers blocking roads were a problem after the Trident crash at Staines in 1972. I also remember them in number on the side of the A65 between Horsforth and Rawdon in 1974 when a Piper Navajo on a company charter from Leeds to Gloucester/Cheltenham crashed by the River Aire. Single pilot operation and he had suffered a hear attack shortly after take off in thickening fog.

My suggestion to check it out was for exactly the reason you give (for those who live or or have to pass through that area.) Nothing more.
To be clear.

You must be an absolute joy at parties, Bromp. ...is it kick a Bromp day? I must admit, I'm rather with him (though, TBF, I am absolutely no fun at parties.......)
