You got 1 star because you are a newbie. All newbies get 1 star, when you have made 50 posts you get promoted to Junior Member and get an extra star. As a member all your stars are yellow.
Humph gets 5 green stars because he screamed and screamed until he was sick, and we had to make him a moderator to calm him down. Mods get 5 green stars.
