I quite like the interior, and I quite like the exterior, but I'm not quite sure the combination of the two is the best. Otherwise very nice indeed, and I suppose you very rarely look at both at the same time !

Not sure about a cream interior but I guess WDB is not the kind of chap to be seen in dyed cotton or jeans as some may know them. What have they had in the boot ? Giant rabbits or beavers ? What ever it was didn't want to come out without a fight resorting to digging it's teeth and claws in.

Maybe it's still in there, and those marks were left by the valeter as the beast dragged him inside.

I know we're kind of joking about it here and maybe some people do not see the best part of £25k as more than loose change for a car these days but seriously ! advertising a supposedly premium car in that state ? C'mon.
Is it a factory backed dealership ? I thought all official factory supported Mercedes dealerships just had Mercedes and the name of the town/city after it as Humph said with his Mercedes Stoke comment?
We must be moments away from houses being advertised for sale with kitchen sinks full of dishes and the master bathroom having a big floater in the toilet as some kind of selling point.

They're just a few brush marks, aren't they? And there's a leaf on the sill plate. Nothing that would put me off.
We've had our Approved Used E220 for five years. This week I needed to carry a dining table, so for the first time not only did I fold the rear seat backs, but I unclipped the seat bases and left them at home. And out came the housing for the roller cover and luggage net, revealing a new and undiscovered cache of the first owners' blond dog hairs.
Mercedes dealers are not factory controlled; they belong to the same chains - Sytner, Stratstone, Listers or, in my area, Vertu - as the other major franchises. It's the Approved Used standards and warranty that are managed by Mercedes UK.

Different people look at different things. You haven't notice all the detritus down the seams and across the boot floor behind the seats. The crud in the rear light cluster joints, it strikes me as a not particularly cared for example. When I'm looking at a used car I pull up the rear seat bases if possible it gives an idea of who/what has been transported as you have seen.
Mercedes dealers are manufacturer approved/selected however you want to word it. If this is how they prepare their approved used vehicles what are their standards in their workshops ? These are all questions that tick over in my mind but maybe that's just me being overly picky. I work hard for my money.
That particular dealer may counter that by saying this is how the car came in and are offering you the opportunity to see it warts and all. It depends how it is prepared then for handover that would determine the quality of preparation. Damned if you do, damned if you don't I guess.

Very odd external /internal colour combo. I like them individually but together?
I agree; doesn't look well cared for. My car was immaculate when it came from the independent dealer.
Still,., as one might say of a reasonably attractive woman; I wouldn't kick her out of bed. And in Stockport that's a compliment.

And in Stockport that's a compliment. ...but there again, the favoured local chat-up line is "you know, you don't sweat much for a fat lass!" ;-)

I've only bought one car from Inchcape which was near enough quarter of a century ago. My Mk2 Golf GTi, the exhaust started blowing within months of buying the car. They were very handy with a blow torch. Needed a new back box within 6 months of the warranty expiring. I suppose that's why you are considering them as a local dealer. Not a problem for a new car purchase, you'll have your own plan for how long you plan to run a 540 over trading it when the manufacturer cover expires.

The pictures show CL53-something, which is much older than the car and presumably means something to the first owner. My 325 was the same: shown with something-KGB, which were the first owner's initials, but it came to me with a plain 12 plate.
