Bit surprised that rear headroom works for your family though.

So was I, but I've ridden comfortably in the back of one. The window line diverges significantly from the roofline, which gives the illusion that the back dips more then it does. It's actually a very decent load carrier too, restricted only by the rear lights and a slight lip. It would work for us.

It's a very nice looking car. Juniors have tried the rear seat and size 15 plates 'o meat fit under the front seats OK ? Or, are those front seats set to the rear most position ? I'd change the foot well lighting to blue

Yes, they have. The crucial thing is not to have a sunroof, as without it I can set the driver's seat high enough for both my comfort and to leave foot room underneath. Privacy glass ruins the view behind - and the looks from outside - so I want one without that as well.
I'd really like the full-electric Memory Pack seats, but they are usually packaged into Premium Plus with a sunroof - and possibly have bigger motors underneath that steal foot room. You can't always get what you want, and this one ticks all my other boxes.

Curious to know why you think privacy glass ruins the view behind? I'm sitting in my car as I type taking a break for 5 minutes. So, prompted by your post I'm currently looking through the front passenger window which doesn't have privacy glass and the rear passenger window which does, at the same view. There is no discernible difference in what I can see looking from the inside out.

It's bright and sunny today, which will minimize the effect. But I've been in CLS SBs on grey days and the view out of the rear window is noticeably dimmer, as is the over-shoulder view, which (for me) is behind the door pillar.
Incidentally, one thing I really like about my 325 coupé is that I can look in front of the door pillar to change lanes. Just that little bit more comfortable. That car has the easiest all-round visibility of anything since my 1989 three-door Escort.
Look, privacy glass is something I just don't like, OK? Don't want it. 😈

Ah that's more like it. Why didn't you just say so? 😜

Another odd thing I've observed about lighter MB interiors. I'm sure if you pulled the plastic bits off the seat backs and the door bins, you'd find the same recycling codes whatever the colour. So they're all made of the same basic stuff. But the black ones just look so cheap in comparison, you could be looking at a seat back from a Dacia. Something psychological at work here, I suspect, but I want this car to feel a bit special and extra-welcoming every time I open the door. The cream leather in the BMW has that effect, but I don't think MB black - well as it's worn in the car we have - quite does.

So, you want one in a wishy washy colour, with a bland interior, no sunroof and no privacy glass?
Oooohkaaaay...
🤔

I really don't like the dark interior colours in a Mercedes (or most cars really). When I was looking, a make a conscious choice to buy a car with light tan or beige interior trim. It makes a huge difference to the feel of the car, and it looks for more luxurious than black.

Caught a glimpse of a red one today, as it emerged from a side road a few cars ahead of me. It looked fabulous; the colour really emphasized the long, sleek shape. goo.gl/images/4qKrL7From my investigations, there seem to be about three red ones in the UK, and they're probably all Premium Plus cars with sunroofs. But one of these, with the Crystal or Alpaca interior... Yes please!

Its fantastic in profile, specially in that colour
Until you get to 3/4 of the way along the rear door. Then it becomes nasty and pinched, the rear side window is a nasty shape the further back it gets.
