Do just measure the fork width clearance before you order them though...should be fine but make sure they'll fit in the frame.

Seems to be 7cm. Enough?

Yep, should be fine, the 2.35 measurement is the tyre width in inches and I'd want to think 7cm is about or just shy of 3" right? Just need a pair of baggy shorts now and you're all set !

I've already upgraded the saddle on the bike to a squidgier one from Decathlon (B'Twin). I shall henceforth call it Trigger's Broom.
Thanks for saving me from an expensive mistake on the forks. If you're in Vendee this summer I'll stand you a cold one. And you can have a go on my superb, bespoke bicycle.

The drink would be most welcome, the bike, erm...yeah, erm, ooooh kaaaay...
Actually, I think we're not going this year, wife having problems getting suitable holiday dates unfortunately.

Saw some bikes in Israel with very fat tyres - balloon like. Thought they looked silly, but then I tried to ride my regular off-road bike on some reasonably firm sand on the beach and realised why these tyres existed....

Horrible things to ride. But horses for courses I suppose. Friend has one and we were up a Welsh hill in the winter with me on my "normal" mountain bike. As we climbed higher the ground did get white, and at the top there was significant snow, but I was still climbing much quicker than him due to the extra drag and weight of his tyres. Of course I ( not at all gleefully ) suggested to him at the top that he might have wasted his money and his breath. But, on the descent, he was able to just roll over the top of the snow when I was bogging down in places. Still don't want one though.

Was just having a squint at my favourite sports emporium's website. Strange that they don't stock any MB tyres wider than 2.10.

Try Tredz. Truth be told, 26" wheels are a bit ( a lot ) old school now. Fewer tyres available that size than there used to be. But even 2.1s would make a difference.
A better bike would make more of one though !

Here you go Al, this is what you need, if only it wasn't for school fees eh? 😉 www.orangebikes.co.uk/bikes/crush-proEdit - I might know someone who has nearly ordered one of those 3 times so far this week but has bottled it up to now. I suspect, however, that he might weaken...
