Issue
18:00 yesterday evening. Starting to prepare dinner, warming up the oven, big fizz, puff of smoke, snap of circuit breaker. Clerly main oven element gone.
18:10 Go to Partmaster web site, input oven model and serial number, order new element, pay 8 quid extra for next day delivery.
09:00 today, get text and email from DPD telling me Mathew will be delivering part at 12:00
11:45 am remove old element.
12:00 Mathew delivers part
12:10 Oven fixed and working.
Total cost 28 quid.
At times, you just have to admire the facilities availble to us. 20 years ago, it would have been a 5 day saga, with many trips to hard to find service workshops and would have cost about 50 quid.

Your dinner was late last night though Our main oven element blew just before Christmas the year before last. It had done it once before but this time it was quite spectacular when I saw it blow. And I decided a new oven might be better (it shorted out with sparks and all sorts when the fan kept hitting the element). But some pressure to get an oven for Xmas.... all sorted but it had to be returned. I know what caused our oven element to explode though.... home made roast potatoes.
