There seems to be outrage that the CIA are putting effort into being able to spy on / hack into / whatever various forms of technology.
Am I missing the point? Wouldn't it be a gross dereliction if they were NOT doing that shit? I damn well hope that GCHQ is doing its damn best to do the same as well.
Now the CIA getting grassed on by someone and having documents released, that's a different matter. That is a bit shocking.

In the US, shouldn't it be the NSA that does this sort of hacking? But I agree this sort of hacking is part of what I'd expect intelligence services to be doing.

One of the problems the USA has is the plethora of federal agencies, their limits of jurisdiction, and the lack of information sharing, for purely parochial power reasons. The NSA, the CIA, and the FBI all hack, eavesdrop, or intercept, both abroad and at home. The department of homeland security was conceived after 9/11 designed to bring all those agencies together to thwart security threats. In effect all it did was give the federal agencies more power to snoop, and yet still not share information.

If you have done or will do nothing wrong you have nothing to hide.
If you tell the truth, you don't have to remember what you said.
Either you trust government or you don't. But if you don't trust government you have a problem.

So Donald Trump has a problem because he doesn't trust the US government.

The forces of law order and defence don't trust the government, most branches of government don't trust each other, the party doesn't trust the leadership, the cabinet doesn't trust the PM, the PM doesn't trust the cabinet.
What bloody chance does the poor voter have.
As for trump, he's gone bowling into the white house with the belief that president means dictator, and government means self and own businesses promotion.

Where have the "If you've done nothing wrong, you have nothing to fear" crowd gone ? Surely, everyone is happy to have a camera in every room of their houses to help them explain their whereabouts if ever challenged ? Smartphone data can help back the claims up ? If you don't have a smartphone that is reporting every movement then you only have yourself to blame. Right ?
