In the course of my New Year's Day being ruined since Ian has trapped me into a "Wheeler Dealer" loop, I have a question.
Its the Bronco episode;
Essentially the drive train has three states;
1) 4WD, front hubs locked - all shafts, diffs and cogs spinning, everything driven. 2) 2WD, front hubs locked - all shafts, diffs and cogs spinning, only rear transmission driven 3) 2WD, front hubs unlocked - none of the front shafts, cogs or diffs spinning, only rear transmission driven,
My question;
Other than the ready availability of 4WD, why would you ever drive in state 2)?

Other than the ready availability of 4WD, why would you ever drive in state 2)? As you say, state two is only useful for the ready availability of full locked 4wd from the drivers seat.
