Just when you thought things were calmer and under control, this happens. Could be bad news for tourism on the island which has already suffered.
Terrible for the refugees of course. I've read that some/many were due to be sent back to Turkey soon and then this happens. Probably destroyed important documents for those being sent back.
It can get very cold on Lesvos over the winter - they can't all be kept in these camps for too much longer! What happened to bringing in the personnel/judges etc. to process them quickly. The Turkey deal seems to be falling apart.

The Turkey deal was a 'turkey'. AS Theresa may said this week, there needs to be an understanding of the difference between genuine refugees seeking a safe place to live away from war or fear or persecution/intimidation/racism. Those people crossing the Mediterranean from Congo etc are economic migrants and should simply be returned to the Libyan shore as soon as they are rescued.

The "Turkey Deal" has never existed. It was simply money paid to the Turks to stop them leaving there.
