Some, eg N Power, open in a new window others, Caravan and Motorhome Show annoyingly do not. Presumably this is dependent on the code in the ad rather than something admin can control?

I've not had any pop up in a new window (yet). This in on a Mac running El Capitan using Safari. No advert blockers in operation.
If we all paid some money, I think the adverts could be removed. If we want this to remain free however, some admin is needed from time to time to prune old threads, so I understand.

Admin has no control over the add server or add frames. It is, as Rob pointed out, how we get this site for free. There is an option to remove adds by moving to a subscription service, and this, I understand though I would need to check it, can be done at an individual user level as well as a universal board level. Or we need to find a rich benefactor.

Current top banner ad is, and has been over several days/locations/computers, for a site called Bentcop.biz.
Has anyone else followed the link?
After mildly amusing 'Muppet' vid it links to a forum, a nobsessive one man band job on scale of the unlamented Safe Speed with pictures of supposedly non-compliant speed limit signage.
Losing will to live after 2 pages.

As of today Bentcop.biz has disappeared to be replaced by Sky TV and Kingston Technology (the latter in Dutch or Flemish) with an occasional one for Breast Enlargement.
