Ok so, this morning I got the bikes out of the garage and put them on the car. Went to close the up and over door and it came off its runners at one side, hit me on the head, (surprisingly sore when that happens) and then hung limply a a jaunty angle, refusing to move in any direction. Called a local garage door company and was pleasantly impressed with how quickly “Daniel” arrived and assured me it was an easy fix. Now, the thing is, he’s currently in my garage and has managed to close the door and I can hear him working. There is no other door into the garage and he is now admitting that the door is jammed shut. He says he’s fine, and he’s certain he’ll find a solution, but as things stand, there’s a man stuck in my garage and a silver transit van on my driveway. I keep offering to help but he’s adamant that won’t be necessary

Something happened 3 weeks ago didn't it, and now you're trying to build an explanation for why there's a body in your garage.
You can't fool us.

He’s still there. Can’t even think of a way to get a mug of tea to him. He doesn’t seem worried, but he definitely can’t get out yet. 🥺

Hope he's got an angle grinder with him.
He's not from Newcastle, is he? What's the difference between a kangaroo and a kangaroot? One's an Australian marsupial, the other's a Geordie stuck in a garage.

I might go and tell him that joke through the door. Or maybe it’s too soon? 😬

Wait till they bring the body out, and tell his Mum.
The original punchline is "stuck in a lift", but garage works equally well in the circumstances.

It’s a ‘24 reg Transit. If he’s not going to be needing it, it might be possible to convert it into a camper van I suppose.

I’ve offered to ring his firm to get him some help, but I sense that he’s keen to keep this from them for now! There must come a point when he’ll find a solution or admit defeat I suppose. I’ll go back out to him once we’ve had a spot of lunch.

Well, I’ve agreed a price, so I’d think that should include fixing the door and removing any equipment or personnel. He’s still in there…

I'm waiting with baited breath - my valuation reports can wait... Is there live stream I can watch?

Daniel is free and the door works now. He does look a bit flustered though. Suppose anyone would be. Glad I didn’t attempt to fix it myself on reflection.
