Something is evidently wrong with the cosmos — or at least this bit of it. What ought to happen is weeks of unbroken sunshine in March and early April, followed by a deluge as soon as the cricket season begins. That’s next weekend — so things may be about to get even worse. ☔️

Even in Manchester it stops raining occasionally!

Oh I don’t know that it’s so bad really. Quite a lot of places around here would be significantly improved if they were to become permanently under water. 😉

Give it 20 years. I’ve not been to Miami since 1991 but I didn’t like it much then. Those slip-on shoes chafed too.

How’s the heatwave in Blighty this week?! Wouldn’t mind some warmth when I am there at the start of August, but won’t be getting my hopes up…. Enjoy the barbecues and Euros at the weekend 😁

‘Heatwave’ is a bit strong. Mid-20s and muggy at night, nothing very exciting.

Still too hot for me. Looking forward to it going back down to 20 at the weekend and beyond.

Yes, that's a holiday, during which I can sleep in the shade during the day, have the occasional cooling dip in the pool, and party all night on the local vin du collapsation. Not really encouraged whilst WFH, that routine.

Made the mistake ten days ago of walking 2.5 miles in about 33C and high humidity. Thankfully I am knowledgeable enough always to carry two litres of very cold water with me so I wasn't anywhere near to doing a Dr Michael Mosley (and there was shade at various points) but my cotton shirt was transparent at my destination. Had to do the same walk a week later and this time I left four hours earlier and the conditions were drier and slightly cooler. Mad a big difference.

...my cotton shirt was transparent at my destination. Better stop there before this turns into Confessions of a Chartered Surveyor.

Yes, I’m afraid the mental image of a middle aged Mancunian in a wet t-shirt will take some erasing… 😬
