Here I am, in foreign lands, drinking a large G&T listening to my J&J CDs.
I am crying, tears running down my face, I keep choking on my gin. And there's not a soul to share it with who would even begin to understand why they are funny.
And my God they were funny. Many is the time I had to pull up on the way to work as driving became impractical.

Me too. They were seriously funny. And to think it's all gone, replaced by that wittering ginger idiot.

Have you seen the Lady Bird series aimed at adults. Like Mid Life Crisis? They are very funny too.
Terry Wogan was in another league compared to the ginger one.... I'm sort of glad he failed on Top Gear as we know he should. I hope Matt LeBlanc gets it because he could be different - it just didn't work with the ginger one alongside.
I used to listen to old Terry when I was a kid in the mornings getting ready for school in the 70s/80s (my mother listened to Radio 2). And I share my middle name with him too. The short version of his - none of this Terrence nonsense.

I remember when Wogan had the breakfast show and the JY Prog (Jimmy Young) came on after. For some peculiar reason I think the handover was 9.30, but perhaps I've got that wrong.
Anyway, it was often a most amusing 5 minutes or so. And I think that was in the late 60s.
I enjoyed Wogan's radio efforts for many years.

I think I am in the minority, but I found Wogan and his Janet and John stuff seriously purile and unfunny. Wogan was great doing the Eurovision Song Contest, so its not as tho I dislike him.

It did get a tad predictable after a while, admittedly; oddly enough your description of Janet and John exactly matches my opinion of Chris Evans.

Janet & John used to reduce me to tears and giggles. Not much does.
And in general I just liked him and enjoyed listening to his inane chatter.
