I don't see a lot of UK TV but what I have seen recently there appears to be more private healthcare companies advertising.
BUPA has existed for a long time and employees of companies benefited from this back when I worked in the UK.
The increased advertising on mainstream media makes me think there has been a change in the mindset of the UK population and a shift from NHS to more tailored individual insurance schemes.
Is that a general feeling or am I over reading the situation ?

I don’t think you are. The Tories pay drooling lip service to ‘our NHS’ but are happy to let it stagger under the burden of post-covid backlog and chronic under-resourcing. That is creating gaps that private providers can step in to fill, on the pretext of ‘helping’. Every headline in a Tory paper about queues, cancellations, late ambulances is part of the plan.
