Eh? I ordered a Crit'Air for Paris a couple of years ago, it was only about 3 Euros then. I was given to believe it still is only a couple of Euros. I'd double check that if I were you. Are you sure you're ordering it from the official website, not some "agency" scam thing?

It was that green-zones website, I clicked to see how much. Obviously a reseller with a mahoosive mark up. I did think it was a bit OTT.
I don't need a sticker I was just curious.

AdBlue shortages were in the news in these parts at the start of the year. I wonder if thing have got worse or if it’s just lazy journalism re-hashing an old story?
Always thought that AdBlue was a faff anyway; I imagine that your Volvo doesn’t need AdBlue bpg?

Nope, it's Euro V which interestingly enough gets it a 2 Crit'Air sticker in France same as an Adblue equipped Euro VI diesel.
Also has a green Umweltplakette sticker here in Germany the same as a Euro VI diesel...you get the picture. She's clean, for now. Until they rebrand the stickers and anything burning fuel is dirty.

It’d be somewhat ironic if Germany fires up its coal-fuelled power stations this winter yet continues to penalise fossil fuel powered cars..!

Truth is they never shut them down.
They were phasing out nuclear after what happened in Japan in 2011, closed half the plants I believe, because they don't like the legacy although nuclear power electricity has one of the lowest carbon emission numbers.
The plan was to use gas as a stop gap until hydrogen was mainstream around 2045. Obviously, that's out the window now.
Lignite (brown coal) is the main fuel used in the stations near where I live.

VW had bought some cheap gas futures and looks like they will give them up (sell them at a huge profit) and continue to use coal.
