Boy1 (the mechanical engineer and road cyclist, remember) sent me this link for a giggle. Apparently the Canadian company that came up with it is serious enough to have applied for a US patent, on the grounds that it offers all the benefits of an e-bike without a battery or a motor, but it looks more like a fool-and-money separator to us. www.superwheelsystem.com/

We may have got this all wrong, stuck as we are in the O-level world of Newtonian mechanics. This thing uses mass-to-energy conversion technology. That’s Einstein’s domain, in which case we just might need more than a chamois pad in our shorts. 💣 💥 🍄
