Yes, it was a reference to the tech complexity and Al's sometimes unfortunate knack of being a magnet to these vehicles.

OK, you've completely lost me there! No idea why that's my dream tech car… Because it’ll be a maintenance nightmare in ten years’ time? A BMW i4 might fit those criteria, Vić. I can’t get in the back, but it’d be your car so I wouldn’t have to. 🤓 Yes my kind of do-it-all EV is coming to the second hand market soon. By which time I probably won't need one...

Little flashes of German humour in this studio climb-over. Nice-looking machine (better than the saloon) but…
…I know I’ve said this might be my ideal family wagon but I’m suddenly unconvinced. It’s 10cm longer even than my CLS but doesn’t look any bigger in the back seat. Looks apart, it’s hard to see what I’d get for the £20,000 extra over an iX3. BMW seems to have stopped bothering with proper EVs and gone back to trying to ride two horses. I can’t help thinking cars like this are going to look wildly out of date in five years’ time.

I read a review yesterday of the new 5 estate, starts at about GBP70k rising to GBP100k if you want the full phat EV experience. Predicting about GBP130k for the M5 which I suppose isn't so ridiculous when an M3 is now over GBP100k.
