I had previously thought that getting my dog repaired last year was about the most expensive thing I've ever done when measured by a time/effort/cost equation. But, getting emergency dental surgery for myself this Sunday afternoon kind of outshone it. My upper right side teeth were sort of messed up on Saturday afternoon, ( which is what happens when you shove the end of your handlebars, including part of the brake lever, into your mouth at speed )
Thought I could tough it out until Monday, but it was sorer than a sore thing in Soreland on international pain day by Sunday morning.
No wonder they all drive Porsches...

At least the dentist doesn’t put a thermometer up your bum.
Well, mine doesn’t anyway.
Hope the mouth is feeling better now, even if the wallet takes longer.

Ah pedigree dogs and high risk sporting activites. I'm sure you have insurance for those things....
Hope you're feeling better soon.

Insurance? Yeah, that, erm, no...not exactly, as such. Still swallowing loads of painkillers / anti-inflamatories but getting there thanks.

Did you time shoving the handlebars in your mouth ? How did it compare with your PB ?
Hopefully the pain will be a distant memory soon. I had a crown fitted last month, planned no emergency premium, cost roughly the same as 35 home charges of our EV. I don't understand how SAAB went under.

Saab failed because GM thought the addressable market of architects and sensible dentists - (i.e. not US-style cosmeticians, who bought Lexuses anyway) wasn't big enough, and wanted a 9-3 that would sell to estate agents as well. Only 'as well' turned out to be 'instead' - and not even enough of that. And we know what happens if you neglect your core market...

I had always thought that I'd probably have a Saab estate one day, much like I'd always imagined that I'd retire to a cottage in the south of France one day.
Both look at least a bit tricky for now.

Andrew Neil could offer a few hints and tips purchasing property in the south of France. Don't think he knows very much about SAAB though.

If like Al you have a EU passport, retiring to a EU country should be fairly easy. Otherwise for the south of France you might find it a bit tricky.... they don't (currently) have a Golden Visa programme. Maybe invest €250k in Greece and get it via there and then be allowed to reside in France permanently.

I don't think a retirement residency permit will be too difficult to get as long as you can prove you are self sufficient. The main thing will be health cover.

To get full time residency in Greece now, it looks like I'll have to go the Golden Visa route.
