Bloke up the road who owns a Maserati SUV (has had it from new) must be doing OK as he's evidently dipped his toe in the used car market as a buyer, a lorry just delivered a Ferrari 612 Scaglietti to his house. Poor bloke, the lorry driver I mean, delivering a Ferrari today Michael Gove will have him delivering sprouts to Asda by November.

Bugger, that nice Accord is gone, I prevaricated too long. Well at least I know people are paying £4.5k for 17 year old gas guzzlers then. Hmm.

Well, I sold my S60 D5 halfway through its 13th year for £750. It lasted six more months, and I don’t suppose it was the saloon-car boot that let it down.
You could always buy back your old E320.
Another thought: when my S60 was new, the airbags had a stated design life of ten years. While I had the car, Volvo extended this to 15 years, which mine didn’t reach. This car has.

How many miles did yours have on it?
My sister's 57-reg XC70 gave up at over 150k miles, after being shipped to Australia and back in a container. Gearbox, natch.
This one which has wibbled my thrustlepouch is on 88k miles.

143,000 when I offloaded it. But it started costing money at around 90,000.

I see, thanks for the reminder.
If I got this, it'd do 5k miles a year, max. And it would cost me £1.5k of real money at most to buy it. Disposable car.
This one has a great history, a cambelt change in 2019, and that tow bar is brand new. Either someone fitted the tow bar and then something expensive happened to the car, or something terminal happened to the presumably elderly owner - it's a one owner car I think.

It's one of those "do ya feel lucky" things isn't it? Might well be a great car, but equally, it might not.
Having said all that, as you know, I've run several cars to 200,000 or so without major grief. I'm sure it's a bit of a function of the type of journeys they've done of course, but on the other hand, they weren't mollycoddled either.

When was the cam belt due? Might have been at seven years on mine. Certainly not 13.
Disposable or not, I wouldn’t buy this car expecting trouble- and maintenance-free transport. Volvos of this period are nice enough (if not, as previously noted) as spacious as people assume. But they do have weaknesses. I think BPG knows more than I do here, but the post-2004 cars like this one are reckoned to have more than earlier ones like my MY2003. (Changing bulbs — a tool-free doddle in mine, being only one.)

Great photos. It looks very straight, and very well looked after. The driver's seat looks barely used, for example. No scratches on the boot lip. It looks like a loved car. No graunched alloys, no worn switches.
I can talk myself into any old lemon.

Perfectly plausible the cambelt's been replaced twice. If the records show that, it would be a good sign of care. OK, so, I traded the E320 in for £1k. I'm going to get £2.6k back from the Civic. Add another 1.5k to buy this, and I'm £2.5k in. What better is there available for £2.5k, in the current market, is the question.

...and, I might be mistaken, but weren't the auto boxes on those a bit fragile?

Scuffed alloys are normal aren't they?...

Well as I said my sister's went at 150k miles. If you call that fragile? Hers never had an oil change - sealed "for life", see.....
Maybe a precautionary oil and filter change on this one would be in order?

Couldn't hurt you'd think.
