A new thread about the new Ibiza Vista 1.0 30cyl in the family.
A quick resume...
Oct 2015 Bought in July 2021 at 37,000 miles for £6,450.
Lovely car, drives nicely, son very happy.
Only Early Sunday morning, some plonker in a 3-series goes and drives past it and damages the door mirror, leaving his white mirror cap on the floor next to our car. So I have been looking for a white 3-series with a missing mirror cap in our area. No luck do far.
Better news is that I have found a second hand mirror with a black cap for the Seat ay £48,50 delivered from a scrap yard in NI. I used 1st Choice Spares whose 'partners' have always been helpful and honest. Just need to get the cap resprayed red...

Seems to be a lot of that door mirror stuff in the North West.

I’m a bit of an expert at fitting door mirrors if you need any help or guidance? You could probably do a fairly good job on painting the cap with a rattle can.

Should I come to you, or do you fancy a proper smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel???

Seriously though, if it's a struggle, let me know and I'll happily pop over one day to help. But, it should be pretty straightforward in truth, and there will almost certainly be a YouTube video of some bloke doing it that you can watch. Mind you, I am rather partial to smoked salmon...

Paying someone to prep and paint the door mirror matching manufacturer paint code will cost more than the mirror. You might need need to sit down and have a stiff drink EspIII.

You could, just spray both mirror caps black or something if its difficult to get a match.

Hmmm - I'm not Emily Thornberry - but can't see my son driving around with that on.
Spraying both gloss black would look good. Or even get them wrapped...

Lightly sand with fine grade sandpaper to give a key. Clean thoroughly to get rid of grit. Rattle can primer, followed by either rattle can in matching red or black.
What could possibly go wrong?

Everything...
I'll take it to a garage.

Sorry, but that's cheating, you need to find your inner Edd China. 😉

Agreed. How hard can it be. I replaced an electric door mirror on our Ford Galaxy when I managed to tear it off with my wheelie bin. Piece of cake. Bolt off, bolt on.
