Talking of watching stuff. I used to be a keen follower of Formula 1 and then for many years I sort of lost interest. However, I've been watching this year's races and really enjoying it again. Yesterday's French GP was an excellent race. I kind of want Hamilton to win the championship again, a bit anyway, but I'm even more pleased that he has a serious challenger this year in the form of Verstappen, who at this stage looks very strong and has a lead over him.
Don't have any pay to view channels so I've been watching it on the Ch 4 highlights programme.

Lewis Hamilton’s cloak of invincibility is starting to slip..?

Certainly looks vulnerable at this stage. To be honest, I don't really mind who wins as long as the process of winning is entertaining. There is something far more interesting about the lack of predictability this year.

What a fantastic race yesterday in Hungary. The battle between Hamilton and Alonso was edge of seat stuff. For me anyway.
As you were.

I lose interest when there is a level of total dominance. I suspect I have missed the boat this season. Next season will be interesting with the new guy in the seat at Mercedes.
The football was also interesting this weekend!

Verstappen is a bit of a dirty driver like Scumacher could be. He won't accept when he's been overtaken fairly and so do things that could cause a crash but claim he was pushed off the circuit etc. He's done that quite a few times in the last few races. He deserved more of a penalty for his tactics yesterday.

There are sportsmen and women everywhere who are excellent but cannot accept that sometimes they can be beaten, so they cheat in a (sometimes not so) subtle way to regain the upper hand which is 'rightfully' theirs. Football is a classic example. Diving for penalties, feigning injury then getting up and running at top speed etc. Just like there should be penalties in F1 there should be a greater use of the yellow card in football for feigning injury.

The only reason Verstappen can get away with some of what he does is a lot of circuits don't have gravel traps now. Or if this was a proper street circuit with no run off areas he could not have tried. Although I suspect if there was a wall there he'd think he'd take out Hamilton as well and that would maintain his points advantage.
