Aye, AZ. Hey ho. I am a one in ten, they say, and as the song goes.

Bit of a ruckus forming in these parts. Looks like the government is going to fast track the jab for sportspeople who want to head off overseas (cricket, olympics,...) whilst the general public has to wait indefinitely. Cries of Foul play...

How do the numbers work there? A few hundred (at most) sportspeople are hardly denying millions.

Well I don't think they're going to delay the Olympics (again) whilst New Zealand carries out a 100% fair vaccination programme. I don't think I'd get exercised by a handful of sports people being vaccinated so they can compete in that. And it's not like lives are at risk in NZ any more, because you have achieved zero Covid.

I felt like utter crap all night and still early this morning, but have perked up a bit now after some paracetamol, some Andrews, and a couple of cups of tea and some cereal. Slight headache persisting though.
Went to bed wearing a wooly hat last night, I had the full chattering teeth like out of a cartoon.
Hopeful for a few beers tomorrow night.

Take it easy. Took us a fair while to get back to something like normal. It'll be three weeks tomorrow since my first jab, and while I'm fine, I'm not entirely sure I'm back to top form. However, that could be also a function of lack of excercise.
"Normally" I do at least two out of three things daily from a list of dog walking, cycling or swimming. The dog remains fit of course but the other activities have lapsed.
I'm about a stone heavier than I was this time last year.

Yeah I went out for a walk with the dog yesterday afternoon and regretted it. I shall stay indoors and mainly horizontal today. Just doing bits and bobs for work if they come in so it doesn't build up and I'm left facing a mountain of tasks tomorrow/Monday. Delegating the school runs and cooking dinner to the missus.

You'd have been ok if you'd had a decent coat on!

My brother had the OAZ jab. My mum said he didn't have any side-effects.... But did have a headache, aches, feeling tired and a bit of the chills. She doesn't get it that those are the side-effects.
Talking of doing something wrong (as per this thread title) just found out a neighbour has gone to Scotland. Apparently they have a place there. How's that right?

I don't think it's right on any level. Not local/reasonable excuse per English Rules. Last time I looked Nicola had banned non essential cross border travel. Watching the Gaelic news on Wednesday ahead of this weeks episode of Miann na Maighdinn-mara/Mermaid Tales it appears the Western Isles have reduced to Scottish level 3. That bit was subtitled, didn't understand much else. My usual watching on BBC Alba, the above mentioned Miann na Maighdinn-mara and the soap Machair are fully subtitled. Still broadly optimistic that my planned trip there in May/June will go ahead.

Feel generally OK but just slightly under the weather....I'm about a stone heavier than I was this time last year. Yeah and that as well....Looking forward to the pools opening.

And another thing. We were never big drinkers, although we have been practising quite a bit harder these past twelve months. But, since I had my jab, I can't even bear the smell of the stuff. My wife has had exactly the same reaction. Couldn't begin to have an alcohol based drink at the moment. Which is disappointing because I still feel slightly hungover and that seems a tad unfair.

I'll be surprised if I don't fancy a glass very shortly. But yes the general feeling I've had since yesterday morning is very hangover-like.
Slightly odd experience in the night though with smell, I woke up at one stage convinced I could smell something bread-like cooking. Weird. Just caught another whiff of it a minute ago. Everything else aside from the headache seems to have gone now. I hope it doesn't come back.

Of course the side effects to the vaccine will be similar to the symptoms you get with the virus. And we know one of the symptoms is changes to smell or even loss of smell/taste.
