Those lads should have been given Top Gear with Chris Harris, not the other 2 cretins.

Are they still making that show?
The only petrol CLS SB is the AMG version.

Aye, I think he knows that, but is fairly sure his wife wouldn't notice. 😉

Aye, I think he knows that, but is fairly sure his wife wouldn't notice. 😉 Mine would. She’d notice no bikes on the back as the AMG has no type-approval for a towbar. (And with fuel economy at 15mpg normally, with bikes on the roof I’d expect it to go negative.)

A friend of mine bought a C63 AMG estate a few years back after his wife insisted they needed a family estate car. She did sort of pick up on the amount of fuel it got through.

I really don’t get the AMG idea. Maybe in Germany, where you can use the straight-line speed, but here? They just seem like brute force machines that make no allowance for living in the real world. And that, to use an old-fashioned word, makes them rather vulgar.

Yes, I'd tend to agree, I feel much the same about the 350 diesels really. A bit y'know, unnecessary...

I know, I know — except that the 350 is quieter and less shouty than a four-cylinder diesel. But don’t worry, I’ve already bought my last cylinder that’s not part of a vacuum cleaner. Have you? 😝

Some manufacturers do twin cylinder engines, so you could elect to go for the fewest possible. 😉

Got a two-cylinder already, remember. Might decide to get rid of it. That’s where we came in. 🤓

Actually, talking of twin cylinder thingies. You can get Pandas with a "Twinair" engine. Not that I'm suggesting that engine necessarily, they do a worthy 1.2 that is allegedly more reliable. But, the thing I remember from hiring them is how roomy they are inside, in particular, headroom if required.
Must be insurance friendly too you'd think.
