Think this audience is ready for that kind of excitement?

Definitely. ๐
Is it raining "down there" or have you washed the car? Hot and sunny here (26C)

It was hot earlier. Then it rained. Anyway, the wiper doesnโt even reach the L plate, so thatโs the end of that little bit of jeopardy.

Aygos have chains. Important to keep the oil checked though I'm led to believe.

We got a phone call from "him" at 01.00 hrs this morning. He'd gone to some do or other with the intention of not drinking and had taken his car. He was about 15 miles away.
"Erm, dad...I seem to have had a drink, or three...yeah...thing is...I've no money for a taxi and, well, is there any chance that you and mum could come and get me and maybe mum drives my car home?....Yeah, I know what time it is...."

Gear knob. The one in this is loose but I think it's just threaded on to the end of the stick. Can I just wind it tight again without breaking anything else?

Yep, give it a twist. Not too much but it's just on a screw fit thread.

Easy answer - tell him to sleep it off in the car and come home in the morning ๐.
...Which is possibly why Al wants a bigger car than an Aygo when his child passes his test!

Trouble is Dixi, if he'd done that, it's still illegal if your in the car in charge of the keys. A friend of mine got done for that years ago. Lost his licence for a year.

Should have sent an Uber for him and got the car this morning. But as you say sleeping in the car whilst under the influence of alcohol is a very bad idea.

Good lad for not being tempted to do something stupid. I would have gone to collect him, I would not have poked the bear and asked Mrs bpg to accompany me to drive his car home though. He's a fit, young lad. 15 miles on his bike to go collect his car would have been a good reminder to plan ahead. He'd be back in less than an hour.

Ach it was no big deal in the end, we were all back home less than an hour after the phone call. He's generally no bother, and I feel sorry for him and his generation. That evening was supposed to be a meet up with uni pals who are now all finished their courses and going their separate ways. They were all in halls together in first year, but now they're spreading to the four winds. One going back to America.
He's not been in the university building since November 2019 due initially to a staff strike in early 2020 followed by Covid.
His social life ( like everyone else's of course ) has been severely curtailed too. The idea had been to meet up yesterday afternoon on campus and just chill out in the sunshine, but well, they're all 21...
In a way I quite enjoyed the drive. Fine night, nothing on the fast A roads...
Anyway, looking at him this morning, I think he'd had rather more than three drinks. Not sure he'd have been fit to collect his car this morning, far less ride a bike to get there!
And, I might have done worse at his age, can't quite remember...

Is it a folding bike? Not sure what else would fit in an Aygo. ๐ค
