...Can’t make loan repayments and are facing restructuring and administration. Don’t suppose that many people will care in badge-obsessed Britain?
There’s too many car manufacturers on the planet anyway I guess!

It's not just Britain, I don't think Ssangyong has made much of a dent outside SE Asia to be honest. The Rexton looked OK for a Sitty, Uppy but the engine department, with the tightening emissions, was always on to a hiding to nothing.

I know the older models had a licensed (and presumably aged) MB design, but the current one has, I think, a fairly new own-design engine, which might have had a bit of life left in it.

In general, if something is cheap enough then somebody will buy it... Ssangyong prices too close to Kia IMHO.
Bit like SEAT: they’re setting up a fledgling dealer network here in NZ but seem to be trying to sell the £25k copycat SUVs which Skoda & VW already sell at sharp prices. Who’s going to buy them? More of a potential market in cheaper hatchbacks I would have thought.

Probably not enough profit in making cheap hatchbacks in Europe and shipping them half-way round the planet for a small market like NZ. Toyota have that buttoned up with the Corolla.

I find it hard to see what Seat is for these days. The hatchbacks used to be cheaper than a VW but less beige than a Škoda, but now Škodas have been mostly de-beiged and the middle-market buys sub-SUVs anyway, what’s left for Seat to appeal to?

...I think that may be why they are trying to develop the "Cupra" branding.

Cupra... another Marketing black hole. Refer to DS by Citroen... and Infiniti...

Is Polestar another that could disappear down the black hole of Volvo Recharge ?

Surely the SEAT brand should be exclusively for the Spanish market ( who may give a hoot), much in the same way as Vauxhall is for the UK only ( and Holden for the Aussies)?!

Do Haval sell cars in Europe yet? The new 2021 H6 SUV looks like a sharp package to me?!

Don’t know, haven’t seen or heard anything. Did find myself poring over the Kia EV6 site, which I stumbled on looking for something else. Looks sharp, may be short of space.

Can't find anything about Haval in Germany.
Europe won't be very appealing to them if they only have two litre petrol engines to offer. Fleet average emissions penalties and low prices probably mean every vehicle sold will cost them money.
Got to have some electrickery in your powertrains for Europe.
