Main dealers seems to have no clue about tyre pressures. If they kick it and it kicks back, that's good enough.

Not sure what this dealer did to be honest. One annoying thing which I've given in for now on is the type 2 public charging cable was in a bag attached to a tie down eyelet in the boot using a small carabiner. It is too big to go through the eyelet and is attached to the bag with a length of nylon 'webbing' that is part of the bag. No idea how it was attached. A type 2 cable is optional on the car.
I'll figure it out. Going to leave the charger for a 3pin socket in the cellar I think. If I do charge from home when I can safely leave a cable outside then it being at home is not an issue.
Come the lack of petrol/diesel come January at least I can do local trips :-)

As for tyres I've not paid much attention to what's on mine now. For some reason I think I might have spotted Michellin but probably wrong. Now dropped down to small 17" rims. And the car thinks tyre pressures okay but the readouts not even. Might sort that tomorrow... Lower pressure at the front too according to the car. Makes you wonder about quality control. The pressures were probably fine when the car rolled out the factory several weeks ago. Since then it's been stood around in a few compounds, jiggled around on a few transporters, with TPMS PDI probably involves nothing more than checking the TPMS light is not on. Getting the same psi number across all four tyres from the same pump is a challenge. Switch to bar or kPa if you want matching numbers.

Makes you wonder about quality control. ...well, it's got the weight of the battery in the boot to support, so that sounds about right to me. 33/35 in normal running on 17s is my guess

If you don't mind a bit of paint... Hmmm. Today I have mostly been doing skirting. It is a task invented by Beelzebub when he had tired of his less inventive tortures. It should really be retained and only visited (in perpetuity) on Brexiteers and the like. So, no paint, please. (And no, my painting wardrobe is not similar to yours)

The main battery I think is still in the boot as is the fuel tank. The 12kW batteries are under the rear seat where the fuel tank would normally be.
I get the pressures could have changed but the front two don't quite match and all are below what the 'computer' says. And yet it has not complained. Only done about 130 miles or so.
I like the fact it can play Spotify music itself from my account and using the BMW data - although I have plenty on the phone. And I've used Android Auto briefly although I won't want to do that much. The wide display means it displays more than the Skoda did and the next instruction is in the display in front of me (head up too if I had it) which few Android auto integrations do... BMW caught up and has done better. Directions in the driver's line of site and wireless.

KIA has an onboard SIM card which can only be used by the car, no WiFi hotspot.
Ford has a WiFi hotspot which can support up to 10 devices I think it is. Data subscription is through Vodafone, after the initial freebie it can be bought in monthly or annual blocks. Not really worth it at the moment though definitely useful with two teens for longer journeys in future.
KIA does show navigation instructions through the head up display not sure about android Auto though, I gave up trying to use that. I have a Google phone and it does not work consistently with that. Rather than work as an unpaid Beta tester I've uninstalled it and stopped bothering with it. What I did find is an apk sourced away from Play Store installed on a Huawei tablet gave more consistent behaviour than the official install on Google approved hardware.

I can unlock, lock and precondition the car via the web or phone app. In some countries you can start it as well but not the UK. Had to prove to a dealer with the Superb it was my car to unlock/lock. Not sure how often I'll use that :-) Suppose you could keep the spare key inside in a faraday type pouch.

They all do that now EV, PHEV, or god old fashioned petrol and diesel My Ford tells me how much fuel I've got, range, tyre pressures , fuel consumption report, lock/unlock the car, remote start, pre-condition using either the last settings or using defrost to switch on heated windscreen, seats, steering wheel. It runs on petrol, no electrickery with this car.
Unlocking the car and starting the engine remotely does not mean you can get in and drive away. There are other conditions that have to be met otherwise I'd expect the insurance industry would be in full meltdown.
It makes sense to pre-warm the EV in the garage as it has to make heat rather than use lost energy. EV is noticeably a few degrees cooler for a given temp when the thermometer dips outside.

Fab stuff. Way easier to use than masking tape.

You'll now be worried as to whether your readings or the car's readings are correct If the system is like mine (BMW), then you would probably be best doing a reset. Get the tyres to the appropriate pressure and perform the "reset" function, which involves taking the car for a drive (and probably means they never bother with that at the (non-existent) pdi, though that's less of an excuse for variance across an axle). Doesn't matter, of course, whether readings at the wheel and at the display are different (as long as they don't vary a huge amount), you simply need the system to sense any significant decrease from the defined initial value.
