Heh heh! Will do.
I was sort of near you earlier today. Lincoln, parked by the castle. Nice place Lincoln. Wasn't too cold.
Yet...

It'll be fine, doesn't have one of those oversized, overweight, out of date, six cylinder engines to support. Finely balanced machine.

Humping Crocs and UGG boots around Europe is going to take it out of the suspension over 140k miles though, especially with roof bars and occasional roof box. Highly strung four pot lugging all that weight, head gasket has got to be of concern.

Good for half a million miles those engines, just ask any Cherman taxi driver ( well, Turkish maybe ) 😉

Somebody once told me that leaving winter tyres on the car in summer wasn’t a great idea - something about having a negative effect on handling and braking distances? Or was it just folklore?!

For what it's worth, the Qashqai used to have Bridgestones on it but I changed all 4 to Crossclimates a couple of years back. Much quieter, seem to be wearing well, and, well, they are all season thingies. Save breath to cool porridge, Humph. He’s past the honeymoon period with a decent car and he’s missing the old cheapskate-money-pit experience.

Yeah, fair enough WDB, anyway, could we pick on T&Es dodgy old boiler for a bit instead maybe? ( just be careful with the jokes down that road...) 😬

Oh they definitely don't perform as well in normal weather Dixie. Noisy, and a bit wayward at any hurry up speeds. But, it only did 5000 miles between March and now so it wasn't a huge privation.

In out last house we had to get a new boiler. It replaced a huge converted oil burner that was converted to gas. In the cold weather it often did not fire up.... just when you needed it. The replacement was also huge for the size of house and needed to be carried down the outside steps to the cellar. Plumber's mate was a fireman and fell and hurt himself.... he was probably off work for some time :-(
As for tyres I've not paid much attention to what's on mine now. For some reason I think I might have spotted Michellin but probably wrong. Now dropped down to small 17" rims. And the car thinks tyre pressures okay but the readouts not even. Might sort that tomorrow... Lower pressure at the front too according to the car. Makes you wonder about quality control.
