Stubbed my left little toe on a metal door stop in the kitchen on Thursday night. Spent most of yesterday hobbling about and by the evening the toes blue and purple... Getting easier today, managed to walk around our local park at about 75% usual speed. Not really what I wanted when I can't get into the pool...
I feel heavier already.

Toes and fingers hurt like hell if you break them. But, they do heal quite well usually.
If you tried to go to a doctor with that right now they'd probably tell you to hop it...

ho ho...
I've done both big toes in before, but somehow were less debilitating than the little toe. Anyway it seems to be calming down. More twingey now than painful.

A lot of nerve endings down there. Reminds you that we have ancestors that relied on all four sets of digits for catching branches and so keeping themselves alive.
Which sort of reminds me: we think of squirrels as being agile and sure-footed, leaping happily from limb to limb. My cat certainly does. But in the last month I’ve seen two land near my bike that can only have arrived there by falling out of a tree. Each one righted itself and scampered away, but I was as surprised as it (presumably) was to see this happen at all.

I deal with bank managers on a daily basis. Some are wonderful, most are ok, some are dreadful. Of course after 30 years of valuing for Nat West bank I know which managers fall into which category. Guess who I got for our new business manager two years ago....
If I need anything doing I ring the rather excellent manager at the next desk and get him to do it for me.

Espadrille has broken her ankle in three places. Got a call at 11:00 today; she was at a house about 35 minutes from my office, where she was meeting tenants. She turned to leave and slipped on the step. Foot was turned 90 degrees to the usual position. Hospital managed to reposition it under sedation but X-ray showed breaks.
So needs an operation and six weeks on crutches/wheelchair, then physio...
pours, it, rains, never, but (rearrange as you wish)...
At least she is in good spirits and I am coping so far thank you. Mercifully/Regretfully the MiL is going to arrive in the next couple of days to cause havoc.
