Got the car. I think I prefer the Superb but that was not the option. That's off to auction. Driver thought it would get about £8k and make a good taxi. Not sure about the £8k but a DSG 1.4TSI Superb will not make a good taxi longer term IMO.
The BMW came with the default/standard charger cable but also the Type2 to Type 2 7.2kW one.... as expected.d Used it but can I work out how the mini carabiner has been fed through a storage eye to remove/move the bag.... Nope. It won't budge and it's an optional extra so the bag is not standard either.

Anyway "Jemima" is ordering one in for me. so we'll see how that goes. ...it has apparently arrived and is being posted to me on Monday. Given the broken bit is very vulnerable, the chances of it reaching me in one piece are pretty low, though I'm assured it will be well protected.

...well, either Jemima forgot, or the part has disappeared into the great Mail Centre in the sky.
However, on the day that I posted the above, less than two weeks after the annual service, I got a call from the MB garage reporting a recall, and would I like to book it in to have it done. It is, apparently, a software update, but I couldn't get hold of the details. There is in fact a very recent recall which has just hit the VOSA site for a software update on the emergency braking system, but the build dates for that begin in 2018, rather newer than mine. I asked the contact to double-check, which he did, and gave me a reference number that didn't coincide with that one, and confirmed that it was relevant for my vehicle, and hadn't been done (and no, sorry, he didn't know why it wasn't done at the service, it was possibly only released in the last couple of days). Aye, right! (to quote someone of this parish).
Still no details on the VOSA site, so I suspect it's really a manufacturer campaign rather than a safety recall.
Anyway, if Jemima has forgotten to post the part, they can save the postage, as I'm back with them om Wednesday and can pick it up (and the while-u-wait promise had better not emphasise the length of the wait!)

Probably best to get it done sooner rather than later if it's to do with brakes. After all, you've nearly hit a load of other cars with it already from what you've said before? Be even worse if ye'd nae brakes. 😎

...it might all have been because the brakes are defective. Though, as it doesn't seem to be the one on the VOSA site, and there are no other possible safety recalls detailed, I suspect it's probably a "campaign" engine ECU update. (or maybe they're going to put the second lot of three cylinders in. Smart V6, that'd be nice).

How quaint having to visit a main dealer emporium for a 'software update'. OTA has not reached the upmarket brands yet ? I did an update to my Ford from my desktop last week.

I updated my Ford last week, full internet access for a year for 10 devices in the car. The car (Ford Focus) will update itself while parked on the drive connected to home Wi-Fi.

then:
Then nothing.

Unfortunately imgbb.com and simgbb.com don't work for me.
