Just checked on the member list and with the exception of one new member who maybe has posted once, there are 15 active members; i.e. in the last month. Most others joined in 2016/17 and haven't been seen since.
Would you be interested in closing to new members; taking it private and start to reveal who we really are (and maybe meet up after this situation subsides)? I for one have really been helped by our group, given my specific circumstances and would wish to thank you in a suitable manner. I have offered people too many virtual pints over the years; it is time to get the cash out and sup a real one...

I guess it's a potential discussion. But in the meanwhile, if you just use the message option it stays private anyway between the correspondents. You can also multi message too, so, if you for example, want to message "Tom","Dick" and "Harry" at the same time without talking to anyone else then you can.
Maybe we won't get any more members, maybe we will, but for my opinion, I'd be happy to welcome some new posters if they felt like joining in. It's meant to be a virtual pub, and while some may not enjoy the atmosphere or whatever, I think it's better to leave the door unlocked for any passers by to try it if they want.
But, your suggestion of a post apocalypse meet somewhere sounds appealing.

If you look at the number of members and exclude Admin and Backpfeifengesicht having two accounts (why?) then there are only 38 members. Assuming they have not deleted or blocked cookies many have not been back for a long time. It would be interesting to see if they come back anytime soon.
If you look back 12 months there's only been 19 members on the forum. If you look at the number of members who have posted at least a few posts in total since joining and visited since the start of March then it's 14... oddly junction joined over 3 years ago but has posted 0 times but was looking in only yesterday.
One thought though... Humph is a moderator but who is admin? Is that Zero?

We should delete the other account for sure then just in case. At the very least delete it. Which again raises the question: who's admin on here?
We could find ourselves homeless quite easily if there was something 'admin' was asked to do. Just saying.

Just been on C4P and notice that Bromp called NoMF2R by his real name of Mark (well we all know who Mark is- he's been Mark from RBLS for years despite being in Chile). He then decided to reply calling Bromp - Simon. No idea if Simon is Bromp's real name but what are the panel's views on using real names.
We do try to be civil on here and I suspect that some of you have successfully investigated who I am and some of us have exchanged personal messages with real names. Thoughts? I sit on the fence on this one. Plenty of people on YouTube posting comments via their Gmail account in the real names which means you have to be careful what you say, which is a good thing but opens you up to abuse as well. I have had a few letters published in the Telegraph without any adverse comment.
