On the bright side Humph, look at the personal time and energy now freed up because you’re not behind the wheel 5-6 hours/day! That’s got to be worth something 😄

Hope I didn’t sound rude there. Just a bit No, not at all. Look at it another way: there are millions of cars parked up as garden ornaments at present. How many people locked-in to PCPs, HP or leasing wish they could just stop paying for them for a couple months because they are not doing any driving?! I suspect an awful lot of those cars are still going to be used, albeit possibly only for the supermarket/shopping runs. But, I'm also sure that, if people had an easy and painless way of avoiding the cost in the interim, then they'd be exploring the options.

Yeah, bit bummed out on the PCP payments, but no big deal really so long as I don't lose any income.
Going to buy a CTEK battery conditioner for the Civic though. Also went out and disengaged both handbrakes this morning.

Yeah. The thought crossed my mind. Back to "paid for and proud of it" sheds if the worst happens. I could pay off the Leaf PCP now without penalty. Bit under £5k outstanding as it is, but if I leave it until the last minute it'll be a bit under £4k. So I think I'm better off leaving it so long as I can. Not going to get anywhere near my total mileage allowance now...

Sorry Humph - only just seen this. Agree absolutely with Espada and T & E. I wouldn't think you need to SORN it: a dated photo of the odometer might help, but would be needed only if the Inland Robbers wanted to check your declaration that you didn't use the car at all for a particular period.
There will be lots of other people in the same position, and there should eventually be some form of official statement on it.

Inland Robbers? Come on Avant, you're better than that. That'll be the Inland Robbers making sure we've go the funds to run the NHS at the moment.

It may all be getting a bit moot anyway. Not sure what our business will look like on the "other side", or if it will have any shape or form at all...
Customers not paying for goods we've shipped, cancelling forward orders we have in place, closing their businesses permanently in some cases already...and, our EU business was already a basket case but now more or less stopped.
Keep calm and carry on for the moment I suppose.

Sorry, in my new Zen state I should have shown a thread of sympathy, clearly meditation needs time to build up
