Samantha has to leave us now, as she’s going to help a gentleman friend unload his bulging sack. ...though I shall see her later for dinner, as she's always keen for a little bit of my Pork in Cider.......

I'm getting rather annoyed at all the conflicting "advice". . Gosh you were very calm and polite. Even in my new state of Zen it would have been a very short expletive laden rather threatening encounter.

So last night Netanyahu announced that everyone should wear some form of mask in public. Even a home made one or a scarf over their mouth and nose. The BBC on the other hand suggests there is no need and other preventative measures are more effective. Do you need to wear a mask I think I prefer the BBC version.. the mask gives a false sense of security.

Masks (from the evidence of the SARS and swine flu outbreaks) are quite effective at preventing carriers from infecting others. I suspect this has less to do with stopping airborne particles than in reducing face-to-hand-to-surface transfer, leaving less virus for others to pick up. This, of course, is not the usual reason for people choosing to wear one.

Bored, really bored.
Thought about clearing out and rebuilding my shed. ( it leans ) but the tip is closed. Could clear out the garage I suppose, oh wait, the tip is closed...ok, I'll clear out my office, loads of old stuff and files I don't need any more, been meaning to do it for years. Jeez, the tip is closed...could do the rain gutters I guess.
Suggestions on a postcard please.

One of my neighbours had a massive bonfire yesterday evening. Garden waste collections have only been suspended for a week, the tip only closed for a week also.
I are not a fan of this behaviour.

Come to think, I do have one of those garden burner things. Like a metal dustbin with holes in.

Round here garden waste collections are cancelled until further notice. Recycling centre closed until further notice too. One of my tasks is to sort out the cellars but not being able to go to the tip means I'd have to move the stuff to the garage - which I might do.

Because the smoke gets in everyone else's house (I have one trickle vent over the stairwell which I can't access to close, also my front door isn't hermetically sealed), and as an asthmatic (and son also) it's deeply uncomfortable. And especially at the moment when there may well be people around the neighbourhood with certain extra breathing difficulties for all anyone knows. I think it anti-social and unnecessary at the best of times, utterly unacceptable at the moment.

Fear not Humph, its not like he can drive up there and remonstrate with you. Burn baby - Burn! ...yeah; I mean nowadays who'd even think of doing a 150 mile trip North for a non-essential reason...... (Mind you, one of the cars wouldn't even make it)
