The Cactus?
"She" saw one yesterday, the one with the bubble wrap doors. Said she liked it.
Cheap enough second hand. Saw one locally, three years old, 14000 miles, 8 grand. Nice dark metallic grey which didn't clash too much with all the frippery. 1.2 petrol so reasonably future proof you'd think. Not sure I could drive it without a bag over my head mind...but it'd be mainly for her use.
Anyone got a view? I've read the HJ report and it seems pretty ok.

Yes. It's on my list of possible purchases for teaching the children to drive/first car. I am hoping for low insurance premiums, if that does't apply it will be off the list.
I believe a recently returned forum member had an extended test drive once, if memory serves, before buying a green car. No good for dogs.

Woolly gear change apparently. Would need to test one.

We test drove a Cactus back at the end of 2014 when looking to replace a C4 Grand Picasso. All I can recall is a very uncomfortable drivers seat and the paired back to nothing inner wings.
The boss ended up going for a Prius hybrid and regretting that choice soon after. She has a thing for MPVs which estates, SUVs or crossovers just don't do.

Woolly gear change apparently. Would need to test one. Gear change was ok on the one I had for 24 hours a few years back, fun car loved it. Road test on the "other" site

Maybe you could ask Frau Backpfeifen to tell us what she sees as the essential difference between an MPV and an SUV. Blowed if I know.
I've no idea, for example, whether the Cactus counts as an SUV or MPV - maybe to most of us it doesn't matter. Mrs Humph will just have to try it and see if she likes it: Citroens tend to be either loved or loathed. She could perhaps have a look at a Suzuki Vitara 1.4 as an alternative. These have been well reviewed and might be more reliable in the long-term.

Nissan Juke (urgh) is another (egregious) example. MPV is more van-like, SUV looks like an off-roader. That's the difference. Land Rover Discovery is an SUV, Ford Galaxy is an MPV.

The Juke is an odd one. When they first came out, I sort of liked them. Then, in time, I began to dislike them, then, eventually and finally I really despise them.
I had a boss like that once.

I had a boss like that once. 😉 Clearly its marmite. I hated them when they came out out. Ended up driving one for 1000km to Granada and back over three days, and ended up loving it. Never had a boss like that.

Most awful car I've ever driven (Juke). Only car which has made me feel physically nauseous whilst driving it. If the Nissan dealer offers me one as a courtesy car again, I'll go and get a bus instead. Manged to perform the unfathomable trick of both a harsh ride and wallowy handling.
And I say that having driven a selection of Yugos from rental companies during the Yugoslav civil wars and sanctions. Yugo over a Juke every day.
