Indeed. if I was going to be doing this sort of journey regularly then the next car in my drive would certainly be another S-Max.

My sister had this conumdrum, having had 3 children. They stuck with Volvo XC70s for all that time, the one in the middle was just told to lump it. Image, you see. Brother in law couldn't be seen in in a "Mumsy" car. Sigh.

Brother in law couldn't be seen in in a "Mumsy" car. Sigh. That's a shame. Espadrille dearly wanted me to drive an XC90. So I bought one but it was awful and by chance rented an S-Max on holiday. We were all so impressed that I came home and swapped. There are times I wish I still had it.

It's the V70 based XC70 my sister has stuck with, not the XC90. They're on their third now, which I just put 2k miles on up and down the east coast of Australia. 137k miles on it now. Guess what? The auto gearbox is starting to play up...

Their own fault for letting you drive it. They should *know* what you do to gearboxes. It'd be like lending it to Humph and then complaining about the serrated rims.
