Do any of you actually know the difference between supermarkets? I mean seriously?
I think they're just like petrol stations in that I will use the closest and most convenient to me at the moment I need to use one. I simply cannot imagine peering at the logo above the door to decide if I cared or not.

There's an Asda near where I used to work. It carried all kinds of ethnic and international foods that are - to put it mildly - harder to find near here, even in Waitrose. I discovered Lingham's garlic, ginger and chilli sauce there, and now I don't get to go. I miss it.
Morrisons isn't really in evidence round here.

Lidl and Aldi provide almost everything grocery wise for us. Great quality and fortunes cheaper. For those who can see past brands it's a no-brainer.

Except that shopping at Lidl takes for ever. Nothing is where you can find it, and there aren't enough checkouts, so the queues are epic. Not worth it.

The deed is done. I bought a 128GB iPhone 7 at a massive airport saving of £40. Add a nice open-face Torro case and a glass screen protector by the dependable Anker and I'm sorted for a couple more years.
Boy2 may yet claim the LG, Boy1 - the household's chief Android advocate - having advised his mother that it's too different from her old Samsung to make a suitable replacement. Boy2 is pragmatically happy to take my castoffs, Apple or otherwise. He has a two-year-old basic 5s at the moment, and doesn't have to work across systems - and has an adaptable teenage brain, so he'll be fine.
No great loss, then, and it might have worked out for me. This 7 doesn't feel like a great advance on the 6 - although not constantly running out of space will be a pleasant change. I'll cope with the silly headphone adaptor, or buy some Bluetooth in-ears for the train. And I know where everything is, which is a great relief.

Well, today you don't so much buy IBM as hire it. And that's a very different matter.
