Had my second kebab in seven nights tonight. First was a long kofte at a restaurant in Wendover; tonight's a grilled-to-order lamb shish from the takeaway in town. Both establishments, by spooky coincidence, named Istanbul. Both quite satisfactory.

Better than the 'elephant leg' donner kebab meet.... gyros in Greece (or UK if you can find it). I dislike donner kebabs.
As a student in Manchester, I did occasionally use Abdul's for chicken kebabs.
