I know exactly the shop you were in. I try to find the time to pop in whenever I'm in that part of London. Some really interesting bikes.
As for that one, I can see why you like it, I'd just ask yourself what you'd use it for, and if you come up with more reasons why you would than wouldn't, then maybe it's for you.

Excellent. I'll be 'avin' that away first time you leave it at a station. See you on Gumtree.

Only if you carry it. Your little legs won't reach the ground - or even the pedals.
No plans to leave it anywhere near a station.

No. I ran out of time before we went to France, so took the old Cannondale to the Alps. It coped just fine but I think a cross bike would have climbed and descended better (we did plenty of both) and been more fun in the process. As with the car, I've decided to take the time to be sure I find the right one. I need to revisit that geometry chart from my fitting session.
Incidentally, the Pelago brand got an enthusiastic mention from Brand Snob in Chief Tyler Brûlé in this weekend's FT. Still fancy one of those but not as my main or only bike.

They remind me of Tokyo bikes. I'm going to buy one some day, I have no real need for one, but they are just, oh I don't know... www.tokyobike.co.uk/
