I currently wear an Accurist. Round face in white, fingers and numbers in gold. I can see the time instantly. About 30 notes.
I was bought a Pulsar at Christmas...very nice, I'm sure, but there are 3 small dials in the big one. I don't know what they do apart from clutter up the face so much that I can't make out where the 'time' fingers are. I certainly wouldn't try to see the time when driving.

Like a few on here I just don't get these smartwatches. What is it they do that the phone they're connected to doesn't ? I'm not sure of the benefit of having a map or an email on my wrist. My phone sits on the handle bars of my bike in a brodit type holder, similarly in the car. I'm too old to start throwing my bike down the road as is Humph's roll in life, not say it can't happen but I don't go looking for it. What's the difference between controlling radio streaming through your phone to using a touch screen controller in most modern cars using Apple Play or the Android equivalent ? I prefer a watch to be a watch and not plastic. This is the kind of smartwatch I like, tell it where you are and it sets the time for you, no winding up or batteries to change, it's Eco-Drive with a meter to tell you the state of charge. www.citizenwatch.com/en-uk/watches/watch-detail/?model=JY8039-54E

I don't want to be "connected" all the time. I quite relish being detached from it all when I can be.

It was deliberate to see if anyone noticed.

I'm getting a bad reputation here.
I don't fall off every week...

Just to round this off, I won't be bothering with an S3 just yet. Yes, it works with an iPhone but not in the way it would work with a Samsung; there are too many functions missing - notably the one that lets you actually do something about the message, email or diary event that it's just notified you of. There seem to be Bluetooth stability problems too; nothing unusual in that but critical when the thing is attached to you and insists on warning every time it loses its connection.
So I don't think I could live with it. I'll stick with the watch I have to wind by hand for now.

I do rather like that, although I'm not convinced a crown like that is the best control for more than occasional operations; Samsung's rotating bezel seems better in terms of access, grip - and looks. And the permanent hands give a (much) longer battery life but are also - well - permanent, so you have to like the design they come in. Good spot, though.
