I must be wired up differently to a lot of people ( no surprises there then I suspect you are muttering ) but while I really enjoy watching sport played at a high level, the concept of "supporting" a particular team or individual has always rather passed me by.
I'm more than happy to watch and enjoy experts being experts in their activity, but can't begin to care who wins. Clearly I'm the one with something missing given the amount of people who do care I suppose.

Naughty Beest. But accurate.
Never mind the glory boys purchasing the league title, big match for my shower of brown stuff tonight. I expect another narrow, glorious failure.

Pretty much with you there. I really enjoy watching football, but I only care about who wins on a match by match basis; I certainly do not have my own team, as it were.
Good luck to those people who do get so much emotion out of it, but I cannot imagine feeling either triumph or despair depending on the result of a team's playing season. Unless I'd got a lot of money on it, I suppose. But I don't bet.

Don't bet either. I'm a 'Bitter Blue' from the days when we could win anything and Man United won everything.
Most of us are still resigned to the team making stupid mistakes so whilst we enjoy the game as it is played by our team nowadays, it is 'typical City' to manage to wait until the last kick of the game to win the match after a dull 0-0 draw and thereby snatch more records away. It was also typical that we lost to Liverpool three times and couldn't beat United at home to secure the Premiership. Not like United fans for whom the team playing in London is a home game, and still expect to win everything. It all goes in phases and in the next few years we will have been overtaken by the next 'great' team. But for now we are the Centurions.

We're the famous Fulham FC and we're going to Wemberlee.
First time in my life to go there supporting my own team. Special moment, win or lose.

Enjoy. It's a great stadium and they put on a great show. Yes it's a downer if your team loses but as long they put up a fight you'll have your money's worth.
Hope they win! Will be nice to have Fulham back in the top flight.

Ummmm. A match against the 'Royal' Aston Villa FC.... Favourite team of Prince William.
Not for faint hearted...

No. Well they might I suppose as any set of supporters might but you're thinking West Ham.

Ah yes. I haven't heard that song for years...
I was saying to my son that even though we watch a fair amount of football on TV I haven't heard 'You'll never walk alone' for a long time either.

Cheers, fellas. I have just resurfaced. I was there, what a day. Can't describe it. First ever Fulham goal at Wembley, let alone first ever win there and first ever cup final win.
Our club song is Andy Williams's "You're just too god to be true".

Let me know if you want to come to the Etihad. I'm sure I'll be able to get you a seat (in the home section though)...
You'll find me insufferably smug if we win. And a Bitter Blue if we don't don't.

Ah, the place we used to call "Easylands" on our last sojurn in the Premier League! We got quite a few wins there back then, doubt they will come quite so frequently nowadays though.
I remember watching Fulham v Man City at Craven Cottage in the old Third Division, seems like yesterday. How things change.
