We all know that modern polycarbonate headlamp lenses suffer badly with age. The ones on my mothers Clio suffered really badly, tho never failed an MOT This is the L/H headlamp prior to restoration. I used the 3M headlamp restoration kit, which consists of three grades of abrasive, a backing disk adaptor for the drill, a rubbing compound and pad and full instructions, including a video on line. This is the R/H headlamp after restoration. (it was as bad as the l/h one) Took about 40 minutes per lamp in total.

Think Fenlander did something similar on his Alfa or BMW. Want to think he used a Meguiars kit?

I would expect to keep doing them, once the UV protective lacquer has been removed it leaves the plastic open to getting damaged from uv light again.

I don't believe the polish protects them a great deal from UV light. But see how you get on.
