It isn't possible for him to be normal, unless he opts out of the kinging etc. I wouldn't want to deny him at least some level of participation in an aspect of "real life" driving the air ambulance, and no doubt the charity benefits from the profile. |

His 'salary' is given back to charity, the increased profile increases donations to the charity he works for and he gets to work with normal people so when he does become king he will be even more popular that HMQ is now. Just think about it - we could have Obama or Hollande as head of state

Not holding your breath, I hope, Esp. Charlie has been mollycoddled and micromanaged (medically, at least) since 1948, and seems likely to run till 2050 and beyond. By which time Wills will be pushing 70 and a rather less dashing figure than today.
At least he and his father have had the sense to delay reproducing until their 30s, which spreads the generations out a little. Even so, George is likely to be well past 60 before he gets a go in the big chair.

Just think about it - we could have Obama or Hollande as head of state I have had one of my brilliant ideas! Instead of "giving his salary to charity", why not do it the other way round? Live on the salary and take nothing from the state, his father, or other relations. Then he would see what it is like to live like an ordinary person. O.K. There would have to be some realistic adjustments to cover the cost of his family's security, but otherwise? Why not? |

I like the Royal Family. I like the fact that we have them. I don't understand the bitterness against them from some places. Other than from Alanovic who I suspect is actually descended from Robert the Bruce.

Is the Duke of Montrose descended form Robert the Bruce? Dunno. If so, I am. Illegitimately.
